Celebrate Route 66, the most famous highway in America, and its terminus in Santa Monica. The California Historic Route 66 Association will share the history, landmarks and points of interest plus travel tips and more. The Conservancy’s will also have an information table at the event to share about the methods and benefits of preservation. Learn more about this free event here.

Established in 1926, US 66 served as a primary route for those who migrated west, especially during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s. In California, it covers 315 miles, running through Los Angeles, San Bernadino and Santa Monica, where its terminus is located at the Pacific Coast Highway.
