Happy Birthday, Marion!

The Santa Monica Conservancy and the City of Santa Monica will co-host the annual birthday party in honor of Marion Davies, silent film actress, philanthropist, party hostess, and former resident of the estate that is now the Annenberg Beach House. This birthday bash would have marked Davies’ 120th birthday.

Docents and special guests in vintage attire from the 1920s and ’30s will spotlight the film star who was also the companion of media tycoon William Randolph Hearst. The celebration will feature live music by the L.A. Love Band and entertainment by Tom Franks from the Magic Castle. Davies biographer Lara Fowler will present her research and home movies of Davies and Hearst. Film producer and historian Elaina Archer will introduce one of Davies’ films, Show People (1928). Party guests will include look-alikes Charlie Chaplin, Harpo Marx, Zazu Pitts and Jean Harlow. The festivities will conclude with a bubbly birthday toast.

Parking is available in the lot for $3 per hour or $8 per day. Please pay for parking at the machine upon your arrival. Cash and credit card accepted. Ample bike parking is available; please bring a lock. A Breeze Bike Share station is conveniently located at the Annenberg Community Beach House.
