**Saturday, May 25Β is the soft launch of our new MAIN STREET WALK! Your early participation in this program will help us develop a new take on our signature place-based experiences!

For our first tour, street historian Mark Gorman will explore Main Street from a variety of historical, cultural and architectural angles. The walk is based around Gorman’s Street Seen blog, reflecting his curious gaze and well-researched musings.Check-in opens 10:15 a.m. and the tour will start promptly at 10:30 a.m. This is a free event, but please register beforehand by clicking HERE.

Built in 1897, the Shotgun House itself features three original rooms where you can explore Santa Monica history and learn about preservation. Look behind the walls and the floor to reveal vintage materials, and see if you can find the one original window in the Shotgun House. Young guests will also enjoy the miniature model house decorated with Victorian-era furnishings that were popular when our shotgun house was first built!

Our friendly and knowledgeable docents will share information about what life was like in the early 1900s, how the house was saved and rehabilitated, and answer any questions you may have.
