The architects in the presentation include Albert C. Martin, who designed Graumanโ€™s Million Dollar Theater, and Claud Beelman, who never received a college degree but went on to design the Elks Lodge in Los Angeles now known as The MacArthur. The Gothic Revival building has appeared in a dozen feature films, including “Barton Fink,” Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Stargate” and “Reservoir Dogs.”

The free program is hosted by the Society of Architectural Historians / Southern California Chapter. All ages are welcome. Space is limited and on a first-arrival basis.
