Join Conservancy volunteer and long-time Ocean Park resident and historian Richard Orton for a free lecture on the transformation of the Ocean Park neighborhood.
One of Santa Monica’s oldest neighborhoods, Ocean Park has a unique and interesting history. It’s now known for having the highest concentration of coffee shops in Santa Monica, and home to Abbot Kinney and Pacific Ocean Park. But did you know that an ostrich farm, Santa Fe Railroad, and a Carnegie library also helped shape this area? Richard Orton will give a lively presentation on the colorful– and at times notorious– history of the Ocean Park neighborhood filled with fascinating facts and stories.
The lecture is free and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
