Our 2014 Fundraising Salon at the Bundy House
Join us on Sunday, October 12, from 3- 5 pm for an afternoon of music, wine and elegant hors d’oeuvres in a remarkable home that reveals fascinating historical and architectural insights.
The Conservancy’s annual fundraising Salon invites guests to one of Santa Monica’s historic treasures – the Bundy House, built in 1913 for real estate magnate Thomas Clark Bundy and his wife, tennis player May Sutton Bundy. May was America’s first Wimbledon champion and our first female sports celebrity.
This imposing and highly intact American Colonial Revival residence was designed by prominent Los Angeles architects Sumner P. Hunt and Silas R. Burns. Located at 401 25th Street, it was one of the very first to be built in the area originally called Brentwood Place, on the eastern edge of Santa Monica. The original house remains highly intact today, its blend of Colonial Revival and Craftsman styles evident in many interior and exterior features. The current owners, Meredith Stiehm and Tom Smuts, successful TV screenwriters, sought landmark designation, which was granted earlier this year.
Tickets for this fundraiser supporting the Conservancy’s educational programs are $195 for Conservancy members, $225 for the general public. Reservation deadline is October 8.
Click here to purchase your tickets online, or mail your check with your contact information and number of tickets requested to P.O. Box 653, Santa Monica, CA, 90406, in time to arrive by October 8.
